William Harrison Fields , 90, widower of Carrie Fields, died Saturday September 15, 2018 at Gallatin Health Care in Warsaw, KY.  Born March 14, 1928 in Laurel Co., KY; he was the son of the late Emery & Maud Johnson Fields.

Harrison was united in marriage on June 24, 1947 to the former Carrie Templeton; she preceded him in death on October 30, 2005. He started to work for the Kentucky State Highway Department in 1959 and worked until his retirement in 1989. He was a Charter member of the Sherman Church of Christ, where he was affectionately known and loved as "The Candy Man". In later years he became a member of the Violet Ridge Church of Christ. He also proudly served our country in the U.S. Army from 1945-1947. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 64 years, having served in the Dry Ridge Lodge and ending at the Crittenden Lodge #694. He had a special love for farming, which included raising tobacco, beef cattle and hogs, along with a fondness for hunting rabbits and turtles.

Survivors include seven sons: Kenneth W. (Joanne) Templeton of Pendleton Co, KY, William Allen Fields of Crittenden, KY, Louis D. (Mary Margaret) Fields of Crittenden, KY, Marshall Ray (Tina) Fields of Crittenden, KY, Gary D. (Love Stephanie) Fields of Loveland, OH, Harrison (Kitty) Fields of Corinth, KY, Larry Wayne (April) Fields of Hope Mills, NC; two daughters: Rita Faye Watson of Walton, KY, Margaret E. (Freddie) Leicht of Gallatin Co., KY; one brother: Harvey Plunkett of Arizona and one sister: Bessie Grimes of IN. Twenty-eight grandchildren and many, many great and great-great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Carolyn Mae Jackson, two brothers: George and Robert Plunkett and a sister: Anna May Richardson.

V isitation will be Wednesday September 19, 2018 from 10:00 - 1:00 at Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home in Dry Ridge, KY. A Masonic service will be held at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 with Bro. Dave Shanklin officiating. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
