Willie Jay Cheeks

Mr. Willie Jay Cheeks of Dry Ridge, KY. passed away Sunday, December 9 after a short stay at the Grant Center Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Williamstown, KY. at the age of 84.  Mr. Cheeks was born May 5, 1934 in Madison County, KY. to the late Chester Cheeks and Lyda B. Davis Cheeks.  Mr. Cheeks was retired from the Erlanger-Elsmere School System and worked as a custodian at Lloyd High School.

In addition to his parents Mr. Cheeks was preceded in death by his wife: Liza Cheeks in 2004.  He was also preceded in death by brothers: James Anderson Cheeks, Nelson Cheeks, Neville Cheeks, and by sisters: Iva Gean Renfro, and Mildred Demouy.

Mr. Cheeks is survived by 2 son: Donald (Pam) Cheeks of Middletown, OH., Ray Cheeks of Crittenden, KY., 3 daughters: Susan Clark of Dry Ridge, KY., Nancy (Butch) Hamm of Piner, KY., Mary (Fred, deceased) Harvard of Cody, WY., 2 brothers: Shelby Cheeks of Jonesville, KY., Harold Cheeks of Williamstown, KY., 5 sisters: Lucille Berry of Paris, KY., Joyce Cain of Round Hill, KY., Jewel Dean Conner of Paintslick, KY., Evelyn Crump of Williamstown, KY., Frances Lois Yarber of Williamstown, KY., 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Willie Jay Cheeks will be conducted 4:30 pm Wednesday, December 12 in the chapel of the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 500 North Main Street, Williamstown, KY. 41097.  Visitation will also be there on Wednesday, December 12 from 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm.  Burial will be in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill, KY.
