Jean Rowland Stephenson was born March 15, 1934 in Florence, Kentucky, died quietly at home on June 16, 2020, she was 86 years old. Jean was one of six children and oldest daughter of Daniel Coy and Nellie Bailey Rowland. She graduated from Florence High School in 1952. She married Donald Bee Stephenson on June 6, 1953. Jean was a member of Hopeful Lutheran Church.
Jean was proceeded in death by her husband Donald and three older siblings Bill, Jackie, and Bob. She is survived by two sons: Stephen M. Stephenson of Verona and Darrell G. Stephenson of Florence; one brother: James Edward Rowland of Crestview Hills; one sister: Patricia Ann Rowland Winterman of Florence; two granddaughters: Sterling Stephenson and Bobbi Lyons and two grandsons: Barron Singleton and Coy Stephenson.
Jean loved playing golf and dancing. She was a former instructor for the Arthur Murray Dance Studios and was a buyer for the Stouffer's Restaurant in Cincinnati. Earlier she had worked in accounting for the J. C. Penney Stores. She was a graduate of the Florence High School.
Due to Covid 19 restrictions, a graveside service will be held at the Hopeful Lutheran Church Cemetery on Saturday, June 27, at 10:30 AM. Pastor Blair Fields will be officiating along with the eulogy by Kenneth Rowland. Masks are suggested, but optional.
The Family has requested memorial donations in lieu of flowers to be made to Hopeful Lutheran Church, 6430 Hopeful Church Road, Florence, Kentucky 41042, as these were the wishes of Jean.
