Harold E. Elliston was born Nov. 20, 1934 in Elliston, KY to the late James Polk Elliston & Blanche Alexander Elliston Kannady and died Dec. 19, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Florence, KY at the age of 83.

Harold began serving his community as a police officer at the Dry Ridge Police Department in 1959.  He then retired from the Kentucky State Police at Post Six in Dry Ridge as an Administrative Sergeant.  He was also an assistant funeral director with Stanley Funeral Homes for the past 28 years, served as Deputy Coroner, and was an Honorary Deputy for the Grant County Sheriff’s Dept.   He was a member of the Williamstown Baptist Church, a member of Grant Lodge # 85 F. & A.M., a member of the Retired Ky. State Police, a former member of Gideons International, and former member of the Williamstown Kiwanis.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marlene Wilson Elliston, of Williamstown, 5 daughters, Beverly Kincaid (Ronnie) of Owenton, KY, Sandra Siler (Dennis) of Altoona, FL, Linda Beach (Steve) of Dry Ridge, Donna Meadows of Williamstown, and Deborah McComas (Elwood, Jr.) of Holbrook, KY, a son, Dennis Taylor of Braden, FL, 2 sisters, Christine Grubbs and Judy Jackson (Dale), both of Elliston, KY, 24 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Harold was preceded in death by his son, David Eugene Elliston, his daughter, Terri Lynn Elliston and two grandsons, Jarrod Allen Richardson and Matthew Joseph Reynolds.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Tuesday, Dec. 26, 2017 at Elliston- Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown.  Funeral services will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, Dec. 27 at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Owenton Cemetery.
