Ray E Sechrest

Ray E. Sechrest, a Williamstown resident, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood, at the age of 95.

On October 1, 1945, Mr. Sechrest founded the Sechrest Garage & Co. Inc. in Williamstown, KY. Ray was a former member and chairman of the Williamstown Board of Education. He was a member and deacon of the Williamstown Christian Church, a member of the Kentucky Manufactured Housing Association, a member of the Towing Recovery Association of Kentucky, a volunteer at the Oneida Baptist Institute in Oneida, KY, a past master and 60 year member of the Grant Lodge #85 F. & A.M., a member of the Oleika Shrine Temple and the Indra Consistory of the Scottish Rite in Covington, KY.

Ray was preceded in death by his lovely wife of 44 years, Irene Gordon in 1982. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde C. "Pete" Sechrest, Harold Lee Sechrest, and one grandson, Brian Keith Sechrest.

Ray is survived by two sons, Donald Ray (Marcia) Sechrest of Williamstown, Ronald E. (Lori) Sechrest of Dickson, TN, one daughter, Mary Ann (Jerry) Neal of Florence, KY, one sister, Edna Ruth (Donald) Wallace of Williamstown, one granddaughter, three great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 9, from 4-8pm, funeral services will be Sunday at 2 pm. All services at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown. Burial will follow at the Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge, KY. Memorials are suggested to the Oneida Baptist Institute, P.O. Box 67, Oneida, KY 40972-0067.
