Aurtha Ray Gordon

January 10, 1927 - September 20, 2010

Aurtha Ray Gordon, 83 of Crittenden, KY died Monday, September 20th at his residence.

He was a farmer for more than 50 years and a World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of the Sherman Baptist Church, Dry Ridge, KY where he served as former Sunday School Director. He was also a member of the Grant County Cattlemen''s Association and former member of the Crittenden Rural Fire Department Board .

Aurtha''s wife of 56 years, Marie Ballard Gordon, preceded him in death in November 2006. He was the son of the late Doll and Urie Webster Gordon.

Survivors include a son, Donald Gordon of Crittenden; two daughters, Mickey Sanders of Seattle, WA, Paula Gordon of Crittenden; one brother, Clifford Gordon of Williamstown; one sister, Dorothy Gayhart of Crittenden; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5pm to 9pm, Thursday, September 23rd with funeral services at 11am on Friday, September 24th at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home, 132 South Main St., Crittenden, KY 41030. Burial will be in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge, KY.
