Charles Mentor Graves was born onAugust 19, 1940 in Dayton, Kentucky inCampbell County and passed away at the St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood, Kentucky on July 3, 2010 at the age of69. He was the son of the late Willis and Mildred Tombragel Graves.


Mr. Graves married the former Melissa Margaret Brown. From this union two daughters: Elizabeth Heath of Apache, Oklahoma and Michelle Henderson of Taylor Mill, Kentucky; and one son: Charles A. Graves of Petersburg, Kentucky were born. Charles is also survived by two brothers: Howard Graves of Independence, KY and Warren Graves of Clearwater, FL; nine grandchildren: Jordan and Jessie Graves; Ryan, Eric and Aaron Hunt; Rachel Riggs, Shaun, Cory and Matt Heath; two great grandchildren: Ellie Wayman and Matt Heath and many other relatives and friends.


Mr. Graves was a lifelong sheet metal worker. He worked at A & E Butscha Sheet Metal for over 40 years in addition to other employers. Charles also served as a Security Officer for Turfway Park for several years. He was a member of the Crittenden Christian Church and the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local #24. He formerly belonged to the Latonia F.O.P.


Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at the Elliston - Stanley Funeral Home, 132 S. Main St., Crittenden, KY 41030. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 7, 2010. Burial will be in the Crittenden Christian Church Cemetery, Crittenden, KY. Memorials are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation.
