Ruthanne Mattingly, of Morning View passed away on Tuesday, October 24, 2013 while under hospice care.Ruthanne was born February 22, 1947 in Detroit.She was the youngest daughter of Robert C. Smith and Dorothy E. Smith, Caseville, Michigan residents, who preceded her in death.


Ruthanne married Kenneth Mattingly March 19, 1988 in Kentucky.She was a woman with an abundance of heart, compassion, and humor.She was an LPN who with her husband Ken, fostered many special needs children, adopting five of them to extend their family.Ruthanne loved children especially those who were most in need of that care and love.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Edmund (Michelle) Adamowicz of Demossville, Anthony Adamowicz of Rochester, MI, Michael and Jordan Mattingly of Morning View,James Mattingly of Smithfield, KY and Samuel Mattingly of Henry County, and daughter Makayla Mattingly of Morning View.She also leaves her sister, Florence La Rocca of Caseville, MI, granddaughters, Amanda, Samantha, Katelyn and Annie;she has seven great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were brother Robert T. Smith, former Lake Township Supervisor, sister Mary Jane Koch, brother-in-law Carlo La Rocca, niece Kim Estfon, and nephews Stephen Smith and Harold Alton.
Memorial service will be held 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Elliston Stanley Funeral Home in Crittenden.An intimate family memorial service will take place in November with burial in the St. Roch Cemetery in Caseville, Michigan.
