Allen Gene Vance

Allen Gene Vance of Berry, KY was born October 6, 1942 in Scott County, KY and died Monday, May 8, 2023 at his residence at the age of 80 years old.

He was the son of the late Owen Allen and Arnetta Lee Vance. On April 27, 1962 he was united in marriage to his wife, Bettie Lou Blake Vance. He was a retired highway supervisor with the Kentucky Department of Transportation in Grant County and a member of the Riverview Baptist Church. When he was not working, he enjoyed bird and fox hunting, draft horses, Red’s baseball, and UK Basketball. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Joseph Vernon Vance and one sister Ruth Irene Hammond.

Surviving is his wife, Bettie Lou Vance of Berry; three sons, Terry (Jenny) Vance of Corinth, Troy (Vicki) Vance of Corinth, and Darren Vance of Berry; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Darrell Evans Vance of Cynthiana; and one sister, Mabel Dean Courtney of Cynthiana.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday, May 13, 2023 at the McDaniel Funeral Home, Corinth followed by burial at the Caney Fork Cemetery. Visitation will also be Saturday 11:00am-1:00pm at the funeral home.
