Betty Anglin

October 31, 1935 — April 2, 2020

Betty E. Willis Anglin , 84, of Walton, KY, passed away Thursday April 2, 2020 in Hospice Care. Born in Berea, KY on October 31, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Grace Willis.

On July 3, 1952 in Berea, she was united in marriage to James Ronald Anglin; he preceded her in death on May 15, 1998. As a wonderful mother and wife, she dedicated herself to nurturing and admonishing their children in the teachings of scripture. Her life was animated by her beautiful smile, a smile that lit up the room everywhere she went. Her “green thumb” abilities exemplified her gifts in gardening and cultivating flowers. She used her talent as a seamstress to hand make clothes for the children. She had a special love for antiques and her “Maxwell House” coffee, but her greatest legacy, a principle that she lived by faithfully was: God - first, family - second and Cincinnati Reds – third!!! She had been a true Red’s fan since 1962. A familiar quote of hers was, “You’re not a Red’s fan if you can’t support them through the thick and thin!!” Betty leaves a legacy of kindness, beauty and love. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Beaver Lick Baptist Church.

Betty leaves to cherish her memory, two sons: David Anglin of Walton, KY, Jim Anglin of Walton, KY; two daughters: Judy (Dave) Taylor of Florence, KY, Ronda (Gary) Hendren of Florence, KY; one brother: Wayne (Faye) Willis of Florence, KY; two sisters: Peggy Powell of Berea, KY and Lyda Morgan of Utica, KY. Six grandchildren, whom affectionately loved her as “Grandma” also survive: Jeremy Anglin, Eric Brandenburg, Tasha Anglin, Kasey Anglin, Jenna (Jake) Hendren Hartlage and Taylor Anglin, along with 5 great-granchildren. She was preceded in death by a step-daughter: Peggy (Fred) Anglin Brandenburg; a grandson: Joe Brandenburg and her siblings: Linda Willis, Donald Willis and Ronald Willis.

Due to the mandates by Governor Beshear and the Center of Disease Control (CDC), all funerals and visitation will be private (maximum of 10) with family only. There will be a private service held at the convenience of the family, with a nephew, Rev. Paul Anglin, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the Richwood Presbyterian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Betty's memory to Hospice of St Elizabeth or Richwood Presbyterian Church Cemetery Fund, in care of Stanley Funeral Homes  P.O. Box 130   Williamstown, KY  41097
