Doris Jean Freeman , 76, of Falmouth, KY, entered into her eternal rest with her precious Lord on Thursday February 15, 2024. Born on February 5, 1948 in Paris, KY, she was the daughter of the late Roy Julian and Evelyn Feeback Snapp.
In 1994, Doris was united in marriage to Gene Freeman; he preceded her in death on June 9, 2016. She was a graduate of Finneytown High School. Doris’s outgoing bubbly personality and welcoming smile caused her to be endeared by everyone who knew her, including her co-workers at Walmart in Dry Ridge where she served as Manager, as well as all her customers, friends and family. Being a 3-time cancer survivor made her a strong, tenacious individual; she will long be remembered for how she proved to be genuinely strong physically, mentally, emotionally and certainly spiritually. Many of her younger co-workers affectionately called her “Momma Doris” because of her caring and understanding approach and instilling in each of them the virtue of commitment and strong work ethics. For over 10 years she directed and organized the annual Relay for Life Charity Walk in both Grant and Boone Counties. Reading her Bible was a routine part of her activities; she was an avid UK Basketball fan; everything in her life centered around home, family and work. Nothing brought her more joy and satisfaction than “Christmas with the family”.
She leaves to carry on her gift of life, two daughters: Paula Allene (Henry) Dick of Foster, KY, Angie Marie McKinney of Falmouth; two brothers: Eddie Snapp of Indiana, Jerry Snapp of Texas and one sister: Teresa Wagner of Lexington. She was lovingly called “Granny” to her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Gene Freeman, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Steven Gillespie.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Doris on Saturday March 2, 2024. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon and go until the time of the funeral at 3:00 p.m. at Stanley Funeral Homes – Williamstown.
In lieu of fresh cut flowers, since Doris was a lover of outdoor and indoor plants, such items may be given in her memory.
