Horace Edward Rison

Horace Edward Rison, 70, of Owenton, KY passed away unexpectedly Monday December 27, 2021 at his residence. Born Tuesday August 21, 1951 in Lexington, KY, he was the son of the late Farris Taylor and Moud Johnson Rison.

He had retired from Hosea World Wide Moving Company. He loved custom making knives and canes; he was an outdoor enthusiast, especially loving hunting and fishing.  He was a member of the Warsaw Christian Church.

He leaves to carry on his memory, two daughters: Tami (Terry) Amiott of Sardinia, OH, Stephanie (Mike Loman) Wagner of Erlanger, KY; one son: Michael Rison of Glencoe, KY; one sister: Paula (Robert) Green of Lexington, KY and the mother of his children: Mary Joan Brooks of Glencoe, KY.  Five grandchildren also survive: Tara (Randy), Traci, Emily (Daniel), Rachael (Alex), Samantha (Camden), along with seven great-grandchildren: Evan, Emma, Sebastian, Lilly, Willow, Atom and Cecilia.  He was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael and a brother: Farris Rison, Jr.

Visitation will be Thursday December 30, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. at Hamilton – Stanley Funeral Homes, Verona.  Funeral services will begin at 1:00 with Pastor Phil Case officiating.  Burial will follow in Napoleon Cemetery.
