Joyce Elaine Sargent

Joyce Elaine Sargent was born May 10, 1933 in Grant County, Kentucky and passed away July 8, 2021 in
Florence, Kentucky at the age of 88. She was the daughter of the late Kepple and Hazel Steinius Toole.

On April 6, 1955, Elaine was united in marriage to Cecil “Buck” Sargent. He preceded her in death on
Jan. 3, 2015. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Lois Penick.

Elaine was a former telephone operator in Williamstown for Cincinnati Bell and she was a graduate of
Mason High School where she was Valedictorian of her class. She was a devoted member of Dry Ridge
Baptist Church where she served in many capacities and was very active. Her greatest passion was
music and served her church as organist for approximately 40 years.

Elaine loved her family dearly. She is survived by her son: Lanny Sargent of Burlington; her daughter:
Lori Cook of Dry Ridge; a sister: Imogene O’Banion of Williamstown; a granddaughter: Brittany (Tyler)
Adams of Georgetown; and a great grandson: Aiden Adams.

Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in
Williamstown. Visitation will be 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Hill
Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
