Rodney D. Rhodes

Rodney D. Rhodes , 54, a resident of Walton, KY, passed away unexpectedly in his shop located at their home on Friday October 16, 2020. Born January 9, 1966 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Covington, he was the son of Randall Rhodes and the late Phyllis Marie Scott Rhodes.

On June 30, 1990, Rodney was united in marriage at Beaver Lick Baptist Church to the former Theresa Marie Gadd; she survives. He was a self-employed contractor, working in building, hauling and excavating. He will long be remembered for his strong work ethics and having a genuine desire and ability to “fix anything”; he was a meticulous individual making sure everything was done correctly. He was the truest of a friend and was always helping anybody whenever a need would arise. His greatest joy came from spending time with family and friends at Lake Cumberland.  He was a member of Beaver Lick Baptist Church.

He leaves to carry on his legacy, his wife of 30 years, Theresa; his father Randall Rhodes of Walton, KY; one daughter: Halee Rhodes of Walton, KY; one brother: Butch Rhodes of Walton, KY; one sister: Rhonda Rhodes Diehl of Independence, KY; his father-n-law: Tom (Frances) Gadd of Union, KY; his step-father-n-law: Mike Cooke; his sister-n-law: Paula (Rodney) Markesbery of Newnan, GA; his brother-n-laws: Michael (Angel) Cooke of Warsaw, KY, John (Beth) Gadd of Florence, KY and his sister-n-law: Jamie Gadd of Union, KY. Numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and a host of lifelong friends also survive.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Scott Rhodes and his mother-n-law: Martha Cooke.

Visitation will be held Thursday October 22, 2020 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona, KY from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Friday October 23 ^rd and 12 Noon at the funeral home with Bro. Bob Hightchew officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Lick Christian Church Cemetery.

In compliance with governmental regulations we must require all attendees at any and all visitations/funerals to wear a face covering and observe social distancing.
