Waymon Franklin Lewis

October 3, 1933 — August 9, 2020

Mr. Waymon F. Lewis, a Dry Ridge resident, passed away at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ft. Thomas on Sunday, August 9, 2020 at the age of 86.  He was the widower of the late Loxxie Chaplain Lewis.

On Oct. 3, 1933, Mr. Lewis was born to the late Clyde Lonzo Lewis and Evelyn Octavia Ratford.  He later joined the U.S. Army and spent two years in C. Company, 12 th Armored Infantry Battalion.  Waymon was a former employee of Butler Rock Quarry, crane operator for Carlisle Construction, Mahan Construction and Ohio Operating Engineers.  He could operate almost any heavy equipment needed.  He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and mechanic work but most of all, he loved to read his bible and listen to southern gospel music.  He was a previous builder and current member of the Shiloh Full Gospel Church where he volunteered his time to be a sound technician.

Waymon is survived by three daughters, Tonya (Michael) Verrett of Sadieville, KY, Mona Lewis of Napoleon, KY, Rene (Ken) Gunther of Burlington, KY, one son, Scotty (Nichole) Lewis of Florence, KY, one sister, Virginia Riley of Burkesville, KY, one brother in law, Robert Lee Utz of Burkesville, KY, three step daughters, Tina (Stacy Malone) Stinson, Patricia “Trish” (Steven) Jenkins of Williamstown, KY, Brenda (Vyron) Chadwell of Dry Ridge, KY, one step son in law, Frank Hisle of Walton, KY, five stepsons, Jack (Becky) Stinson of Williamstown, KY, Kenny (Theda) Stinson of Albany, KY, Eddie (Marcy) Stinson of Cincinnati, OH, Mark Stinson of Newport, KY, Jerry (Jennifer) Stinson of Alexandria, KY, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, 21 step grandchildren and 40 step great grandchildren.  In addition to his wife Loxxie, Waymon is preceded in death by a step daughter, Janet Hisle and one sister, Elizabeth Utz.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 13, 2020 from 11am-12noon at the Elliston – Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown, KY.  Funeral Services will be at 12noon with Rev. Floyd Race and Rev. Greg Cheeks officiating.  Burial will follow with military honors at the KY Veteran’s Cemetery, North, in Williamstown, KY.  Memorials are suggested to the Shiloh Full Gospel Church.
