William Earl Adams, Jr.

Dr. William Earl Adams Jr., 74, of Paducah, died Feb. 8, 2024 in Louisville, KY. Born June 23, 1949 in Lexington, he was the son of the late  William Earl Adams Sr. and Mary Hazel Dause Adams. He was a graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School, the University of Kentucky and the University of Kentucky Medical School.

Known throughout his life as Billy, Bill, Dr. Adams and Dad; Bill began his radiology career at Lourdes Hospital in 1979. Throughout his career he worked with the Radiology Group of Paducah, where he was a founding partner, at both Lourdes and Western Baptist Hospital. During his career, he saw the introduction of CT scanners and MRI machines. Bill loved his job and could often be found bringing one of his three children; Holly, Sarah and Andrew to the hospital with him to share his love of medicine with them.

When he wasn’t at work, Bill could be found on Jonathan Creek at Kentucky Lake or in Crested Butte, Colorado. Bill was an avid outdoorsman who loved boating, fishing, snow skiing, hiking and being in the solitude of nature. Bill also had an affection for photography, music, art, travel and a good glass of wine over dinner.

He leaves behind his three children: Holly Adams of Covington, Sarah (Chuck) Dills of Williamstown and William Andrew Adams of Louisville; five grandchildren: Blake (Tiffany) Dills, Brennen (Taleah) Dills, Bianca Dills, Brooklynn Dills and Hazel Brylee Dills; three great- grandchildren; and his brother, Barney (Diane) Adams of Paducah.
